Born 92 years ago in Frankfort, KY, life-long Washington, DC area resident, died peacefully surrounded by her devoted children on January 15, 2017. Predeceased by her son, Steve and his wife June. She is survived by her cherished children, Diane Leach, Linda (Lee) Rawls, Phillip and Richard Baumgartner and Amy (Alan) Meltzer; loving grandchildren Kelly (Brian) Baker, Andy (Jackie) Leach, Julie (Phil) Seils, William (Derrick Poe) Rawls, Richard Rawls, Jennifer Meltzer, Elizabeth (Mike) Stagnitta, Max (Tai) Meltzer, Mark Meltzer and Stephen Baumgartner. She was the proud great Gran of Kate (Corey) Burton, Matthew Baker, Josh, Brett, Jason and Tyler Seils, Casey and Taylor Leach, Cynna Stagnitta, Ella and Julian Meltzer. Her Life will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 9705 Summit Ave., Kensington, MD at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1400 K St., #725, Washington, DC 20005.

Donna Marie Nosbaum, 96, died Monday, January 16, 2017, in Silver Spring of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond George Nosbaum and is survived by loving sons, Raymond Bernard Nosbaum and Donald William Nosbaum and grandchildren, Jeffrey Noel-Nosbaum, Carrie Noel-Nosbaum and Miguel Noel-Nosbaum. Donna was born on April 1, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to Daniel Smith and Margaret “Mabel” Smith (Maiden name, O’Donnel). She married Ray G. Nosbaum on July 17, 1943 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Chicago, Illinois. During most of her working life, Donna was a grade school teacher. She was a devout Catholic and was affiliated with Holy Family Catholic Community in the Northwestern Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois when she lived with and was cared for by her younger son, Don. During her final years, she lived with her older son, Ray and was cared for by him and his wife, Ruth Noel. She attended St. Camillus Catholic Church as well as the churches of her grandchildren and her daughter-in-law. Through the challenges of illness, Donna maintained a positive disposition. She made friends easily and will be missed by them as well as her extended family. A viewing will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 18, from 7 to 9 PM with Mass at Saint Camillus on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 10 AM. She will be laid to rest at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois with a service in the chapel on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Relief Services.

On Tuesday, January 10, 2017, of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of the late Gina Shutze Lin Liu; Ching Chiu Liu was born 1928 in Northern China. Married to Gina Shutze Lin in 1955 and immigrated to the United States in 1958. Loving father of George, Bette and Kelly; brother of Jing Wu Liu and the late Jing Wen Liu; grandfather of Curtis, Katie, Caleb, Brian, and Alex. Also survived by other loving family and friends. C.C. began his long career as a restaurateur and was first to introduce Mongolian Barbeque in the DC Metropolitan area before continuing as a corporate contract negotiator and company developer. Upon retiring, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and become successful and productive members of society. A Memorial Service will be held at The Ingleside at King Farm, 701 King Farm Blvd., Rockville, MD 20850 on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society , 7500 Greenway Center Drive, Suite 300, Greenbelt, MD 20770.
